Sarnico is now one of the most attractive tourist resorts on Lake Iseo, the town still retains a medieval structure in a semi-circle to the layout of the ancient city walls.
The historical centre of Sarnico offers a setting of great shopping in very characteristic narrow streets, passing under arches, old houses with solid stone walls.
Sarnico is not just shopping and history but also culture, right here in fact, in one of these streets, Via San Paolo, is the Art Gallery “John Bellini.” The Museum was founded by a donation of 150 works, most Party cadres, the period between 1500 and 1700, a great admirer and lover of art has collected in her life to donate to the Community of Sarnico, to which it belongs.
They are among 128 paintings and boards including outstanding works by Palma il Giovane, Alessandro Magnasco, Cifrondi Antonio, Carlo Ceresa, Nicolas Regnier, Francesco Cairo.
Besides the paintings are part of the donation valuable antique furniture, marble statues and some important four crucifixes “professional”, a wood and three silver-plated copper.
The gallery is located in the oldest part of the “Palace Gervasoni, a building of the fifteenth-century at the highest point of the Old Town.
